A Rainy Humid Day after the Fourth
Another 4th of July has come and gone. Was a nice day with a couple of rain showers and much better than the predictions of bad weather. We enjoyed hotdogs, baked beans etc on the porch at noon and almost like being at the park but didn't have to pack it up and find a table and no bugs. In the early evening we went to my church and for those of you that have been here you know it is on a high hill and can get a view of the myriad of fireworks that went off in the surrounding neighborhoods and we didn't have to spend a dime or probably many dollars on them. There was a potluck before and as always like most church dinners there was a variety of food of which you had to take a taste of most very tempting dish. Kathie, Calvin, Derek, Emily and Stratton came about dark and got to enjoy the fireworks also. Stratton wasn't too sure of all the noise and bright lights in the sky. He was very clingy to Emily which is unusual. Think it hurt his grandpa and grandma's feelings as he usually always goes to them. Came home about 10 and there were still fireworks going off in the neighborhood and were still a few going up until midnight. Our church members have purchased almost 70 American flags and they are on display around the church parking lot on special holidays and up on that hill it is a very impressive sight. This past week Beth celebrated her 37th birthday and Eric is celebrating 27th today. Wish we could have been with both of them but they know we were thinking of them. Eric is getting married on October 31st to Meredith Moore. They have been going together for about 6 years so guess it is about time. Pam called one day last week and Allen took a fall on his bicycle and broke his left arm but thank goodness he is still able to work. They were getting together yesterday for the 4th and was also Eric's future mother-in-laws birthday. Congratulations to the Bradley family on Charlotte Ann. She is beautiful. We are looking forward to Jeri, Stacy, Cooper and Campbell being with us for a few days this coming week. Can hardly wait to see Stacy's children as well as Jeri and Stacy. Always better than pictures but pictures are wonderful and appreciate all that we get.
Sounds like you had a great day!! I sent the kids and Dean up to the mountains and I went to the hospital and held baby Charlotte for hours!! Good time was had by all!!
